IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING EXTENSIONS DURING THE COVID-19 NATIONAL EMERGENCY
You may be eligible for an extension of certain timeframes under EBSA Disaster Relieve Notice 2021-01. During the COVID-19 National Emergency, certain deadlines have been extended to allow members additional time to file a benefit claim, appeal or request an external review of an unfavorable benefit determination, request enrollment following a HIPAA Special Enrollment event (birth, adoption, placement for adoption of a child, marriage, loss of other health coverage or eligibility for a state premium assistance subsidy), elect COBRA coverage, pay COBRA premiums, or notify their plan of a COBRA Qualifying Life Event (e.g., divorce or legal separation, a dependent child ceasing to be a dependent under the terms of the plan) or a disability determination.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING YOUR COBRA BENEFITS
You may be eligible for a 100% subsidy from April through September if you meet certain eligibility requirements.
HOW THE COBRA PROCESS WORKS
Your current or former employer offers extended coverage to employees for up to 18 months after termination in accordance with the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). If you are or were currently enrolled in COBRA eligible coverage (example: Medical, Dental, Vision) as an active employee you may be eligible to continue these coverages through COBRA.
